Boil water advisory issued in Clinton

Customers served by Clinton’s water system are advised to boil the water they use for drinking or food preparation, officials said Friday.

A contractor installing fiber optic cable broke a water main and might have affected the quality of the water.

Water intended for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice and preparing foods should be disinfected by boiling it for a minute before use, officials said.

The advisory will be lifted when the state health officials determine the water is safe.

through additional tests on water samples.
