Denham Springs man arrested on child pornography counts

Authorities arrested a 70-year-old man on child pornography counts Wednesday, the City Marshal’s Office reported.

William J. Nason, 12770 Buddy Ellis Road, Denham Springs, was booked on 20 counts of pornography involving juveniles, according to a news release from the Marshal’s Office.

A search of Nason’s home turned up hundreds of images of child pornography on electronic equipment, the news release said.

State Police, the Marshal’s Office, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Marshals/Constables Task Force conducted the search, according to the release.

Nason was being held in the Livingston Parish Detention Center in lieu of a $2 million bond Wednesday evening, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

2million in bond???? The Feds needs to investigate the bonding procedure in Livingston. Bond is not meant to be punishment but to assure appearance in court. Is this man a flight risk? No, I don't know him and if he is guilty he should pay the price dearly for this horrible crime of which he is accused, but convict him first before punishing him.
