GREENSBURG — The St. Helena Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 76-year-old Greensburg man whose body was found outside his burned home.
A mail carrier arrived at John Hornsby’s Rohner Road home around 10 a.m. Tuesday, found the house had burned and notified authorities, Chief of Detectives Joe Chaney said Wednesday.
Deputies located Hornsby’s body lying in the front yard, Chaney said.
The case is being investigated as a homicide because Hornsby suffered blunt-force trauma to the head, Chaney said.
