Woman’s Hospital will close its location at Airline Highway and Goodwood Boulevard at 5 a.m. Sunday and open its new location at Airline and Stumberg Lane, the hospital said Tuesday.
Woman’s has been building its $293 million location since 2008, and the new facility is set open at 100 Woman’s Way near Airline at Stumberg, about five miles south of the existing hospital.
Spokeswoman Aimee Goforth said patients at the current location will be transferred Sunday, and the new hospital will begin accepting new patients at 5 a.m.
The phone number — (225) 927-1300 — will remain the same, the hospital said.
Woman’s said most physician offices located in the Physician Tower at the current campus will relocate to the new building at the new campus.
Some of them have already moved, and the hospital urged patients to contact their doctors if they are unsure about the location of their next appointment. The hospital has a list of physician relocation dates and a map of the hospital at www.womans.org.
In May, Woman’s Hospital said it had an agreement to sell the current campus to The Physicians Alliance Corp., a private, mostly physician-owned organization based in Baton Rouge, after the relocation.
