Jackson man accused in motorcycle theft

— West Feliciana Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Jackson man Thursday who is accused of stealing a four-wheel motorcycle from a rural residence and using it to joyride in a nearby creek, Sheriff J. Austin Daniel said.

Daniel said Brandon M. Mitchell, 20, 1334 Cedar St., was booked at the parish jail on counts of littering, possession of marijuana, felony theft, trespassing and simple criminal damage to property.

The sheriff said deputies saw a group of people camping on private property bordering Bayou Sara and found the missing four-wheeler.

Deputies issued citations to four other people in the group, ranging in ages from 18 to 38, for littering and simple trespassing. One of the four also was cited for possession of marijuana, Daniel said.
