Man wanted in Tuesday shooting
BAKER — Police are looking for an 18-year-old man accused of shooting at three people on Tuesday, Police Chief Mike Knaps said. No one was hit by the gunfire in the Sherron Street area about 5 p.m., he said. Police believe three to five shots were fired, based on the statements of people who heard the gunfire.
Knaps said Gregg Anthony Morris Jr., 18, 11304 Cypress Glen Ave., Baton Rouge, is wanted on three counts of attempted first-degree murder, one count of aggravated assault by drive-by shooting, illegal use of a firearm and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
Police believe Morris is armed and should be considered dangerous, Knaps said.
Morris is accused of waiting in ambush for three people and firing a weapon from a vehicle, which also had several juveniles in it, Knaps said. Officers booked one of the juveniles at the Juvenile Detention Center with attempted first-degree murder.
Anyone with information on Morris is asked to call the Baker Police Department at (225) 775-6000 or CrimeStoppers at (225) 344-7867.
