One dead in Walker wreck

WALKER — A Denham Springs man died and four other people were injured in a wreck Wednesday morning on Walker South Road, State Police reported.

Stanley Williams Sr., 64, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office.

The one-car wreck occurred shortly after midnight on La. 447 when the vehicle ran off the road, struck a culvert and rolled over several times, according to a State Police news release.

None of the occupants were wearing seat belts and all five were ejected from the vehicle, troopers said, adding that the agency was still investigating the wreck and trying to determine who was driving.

State Police said the 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier occupied by the five people was traveling north on La. 447 when it entered a right-hand curve and ran off the road to the left.
