BR casino, hotel plans job fair

L’Auberge Baton Rouge will hold a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Cortana Mall as part of an effort to fill more than 1,000 permanent positions at the hotel and casino.

The types of jobs available at the casino and hotel include hourly positions, and manager and supervisor jobs, said Molly Malloy, a publicist for L’Auberge. Salary ranges were not provided.

“Because all applications must be completed digitally, we recommend individuals log on to LBatonRouge.com and fill out an application in advance,” Malloy said. “This will make the process much smoother. …”

L’Auberge also is holding open auditions for “Ladies and Gentlemen of L’Auberge,” whose duties include serving as spokesmodels for the property, she said. The auditions will be held at 3 p.m. every Thursday.

Applicants attending the Saturday job fair should dress as if they are going on an interview, Malloy said. They should also bring their résumés.

L’Auberge already is conducting interviews for the 1,000-plus openings, and training is expected to begin this summer, according to Malloy. L’Auberge has received applications from the Baton Rouge area and surrounding markets.

The company also is offering a dealer school to train and develop new dealers and table game operators in the area, she said.

L’Auberge Baton Rouge is expected to open in late summer, Malloy said. Around 70 percent of the construction work on the casino and hotel has been completed.

Doubt that the low pants crowd will even show up. Why bother when the messiah, the great one, Barack Hussein Obama is continues to pay them to stay home and collect a check?

"Applicants attending the Saturday job fair should dress as if they are going on an interview, Malloy said. Guys, don't forget to wear your pants just a little above the thigh area. Makes for a great first impression......
