Business honors
The LSU E.J. Ourso College of Business announced the members of its 2012 Hall of Distinction class are Rolfe McCollister, Anthony Ravani, Sue Turner and Joseph Winkler.
McCollister is publisher and chief executive officer of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report and president and founder of Louisiana Business Inc. Ravani is the principal attorney with Lotus Law Group, which he founded in 2007. Turner has an extensive record of memberships and activities associated with historical preservation and the arts. Winkler is the chairman and chief executive officer of Complete Production Services.
Dr. Christopher W. Wroten, of Denham Springs, was named 2012 Young Optometrist of the South by SECO International. The award recognizes an optometrist in practice for fewer than 10 years, but who already has made a significant impact in the field of optometry. SECO International LLC is a subsidiary of the Southern Council of Optometrists Inc.
Ram Devireddy, associate professor in LSU’s department of mechanical engineering, has been named a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, conferred on members with at least 10 years of active engineering practice who have made significant contributions to the profession.
George Z. Voyiadjis, Boyd Professor, Chair and Bingham C. Stewart Distinguished Professor of Engineering in LSU’s department of civil and environmental engineering, has been awarded the Khan International Award for outstanding contributions to the field of plasticity over a period of 20 years, especially in the areas of multi-scale modeling and inelastic localization.
The Mary Bird Perkins-LSU Medical Physics Program’s accreditation has been renewed for five years by the commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs Inc.
