Public meeting set on west La. coastal plan

LAFAYETTE — The potential impacts of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority’s master plan on Vermilion, Calcasieu and Cameron parishes will be discussed at 10 a.m. Thursday at Calcasieu Point Landing, according to a news release.
CPRA’s draft proposal of the 2012 Louisiana Comprehensive Master Plan was released Jan. 12, and public comment on it is open until Feb. 25. The plan spans 50 years and includes 145 coastal restoration and flood protection projects estimated at $50 billion.
