Woman, 29, accused of setting car on fire

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 29-year-old woman Tuesday accused of setting a car on fire Dec. 24 that belonged to her estranged boyfriend, according to an arrest warrant.

The estranged boyfriend told investigators that Shalonda Green lit his car on fire because he was having some kind of relationship with another woman, the warrant says.

The fire caused more than $2,000 in damage, the warrant says.

Green, 4256 Washington Ave., was booked into Parish Prison on one count of simple arson.

Man, 32, arrested
in sexual battery case

Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 32-year-old man Tuesday accused in the sexual battery of a woman, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Shawn Foreman, 1342 Jasper Ave., Apt. A, was booked into Parish Prison on one count of sexual battery.

Foreman was sleeping at the apartment of another woman in a separate bedroom when he entered the woman’s room and touched her, the affidavit says.

Foreman admitted to touching the woman inappropriately, the affidavit says.

Crowley man booked in sexual crime case

A Crowley man accused in the sexual assault of a 7-year-old Baton Rouge boy in November was arrested Tuesday, according to a warrant.

Devon Babineaux, 18, 1072 Capitol Ave., Crowley, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of an aggravated sex crime, booking records show.

The warrant was issued based on the victim’s statements.

1 suspect arrested
on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least one person suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked him into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, booking records show.

Malcolm Young, 56, 1971 Woodland Drive, was booked with first-offense DWI, driver’s license not in possession, failure to maintain control, reckless operation of a vehicle and hit-and-run.
