Man sentenced to 15 years on drug count

A Pierre Part man convicted of selling drugs to an undercover agent was sentenced Wednesday to serve 15 years in prison, prosecutors said Friday.

John Brouillette, 29, of Pierre Part, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of Schedule I drugs on Oct. 26, prosecutors with the 23rd Judicial District said in a news release.

Brouillette sold drugs to an undercover narcotics agent on Dec. 1, 2010, as part of a drug sting arranged through the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, prosecutors said.

District Judge Ralph Tureau handed down the sentence on Wednesday at the Assumption Parish Courthouse in Napoleonville, prosecutors said.
