DENHAM SPRINGS — Federal agents temporarily closed Calmes Motorsports on Wednesday in an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations Division, an agency spokeswoman said.
Janet Magee, a Criminal Investigations Division spokeswoman, would not confirm any details about the investigation of the Florida Boulevard business, except to say agents were there “on official business.”
Armed agents in bulletproof vests could be seen walking in and around the store for hours Wednesday. Magee declined to say when the motorcycle and ATV dealership might reopen.
A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office said his agency could neither confirm nor deny Calmes Motorsports was the target of an investigation.
