A solemn remembrance: Nine years after Hurricane Katrina slammed the coast

Emotional ceremonies, memorials and speeches marked the ninth anniversary of the landfall of Hurricane Katrina, the catastrophic storm that killed more than 1,800 people. New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Julian Castro, the secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, took part in a ceremony at the Hurricane Katrina Memorial on Canal Street.
