Friday, March 28, 2014. The school will soon shut down and the cosmetology program with it. Advocate story April 24, 2014 Comments For 30 years, Richardson has reigned over this corner of the Esplanade Avenue school: a classroom and a 12-sink salon next door. For many years, she worked with 100 or 150 students each year. Charts of carefully entered data show names and test dates. Over time, 90 percent of her students passed the two state tests to become licensed cosmetologists. About half have gone on to work in salons.
