Advocate story May 07, 2013 Comments Students from three south Louisiana schools picked berries in preparation for the annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival at the Landry-Poche’ Strawberry Farm in Holden on Friday. The annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival featuring local growers’ berries kicked off with events late Friday, and is in full swing Saturday and Sunday. Rhonda Poche’, who with parents Ronald ‘Pudgie’ Landry and Janice Landry owns the family farm, founded in 1926, says they have berries at two booths at the festival, as well as supplying strawberries to Louisiana’s three Whole Foods Markets, and its Austin warehouse.
