The service was held as part of National Police Week to honor law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty. Nine East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office deputies were honored, as well as 19 BRPD officers. The program was sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police, Baton Rouge Lodge No. 1.
