Ryan Waldrop, 16, uses a Samsung video camcorder to film classmate interviews on Jan. 25 at Dutchtown High School in Geismar. Jennifer Leanza’s English class was one of 25 in the nation to receive a technology kit including a laptop and camcorder from Samsung’s Solve For Tomorrow 2011 Education Contest. Samsung recieved more than 1,300 submissions for the contest, according to Samsung, Leanza and her students are using the technology to create a video about the way they use science, technology and math in the classroom.
