Aug 20, 2014 18:07 Research Park Corp. could name CEO by yearend Research Park Corp. could name CEO by yearend Timothy Boone| email@example.com Aug. 20, 2014 Comments The chairman of a search committee tasked with finding a permanent CEO for the Research Park Corp. said with a “little bit of luck” a decision could be made by the end of the year. Advertisements for the job were placed around July 1 in a variety of technical journals that are economic development-related, said Edmund Giering, a member of the RPC board and head of the search committee. So far, about 70 people have inquired about the job or have been contacted by Brill Neumann Associates, the Boston-based firm that is handling the search. “Through the process of discussion, we think seven to 10 of them are interested in the job,” Giering said Thursday during a meeting of the RPC’s executive committee. Another two or three people are expected to sign up for the job. Giering said the ads will run for another few weeks. After that, the search committee and Brill Neumann will meet and start making decisions about which candidates should be brought to Baton Rouge for interviews. “We anticipate with a little bit of luck, we could have a candidate or candidates available for interviews early in the fourth quarter,” Giering said. If all goes well, a decision on a new director could be made by the end of the year. Giering said he’s pleased with the quality of people who are showing interest in the job. “Many of the people have the skill sets we think we’re looking for,” he said. The organization runs the Louisiana Technology Park in Bon Carré Business Center.
