He is featured in its July issue. He is among eight lenders the publication calls “Main Street Sensations” because they are making a big difference for their banks, customers and communities and are viewed as industry role models by their colleagues. The bankers were nominated by their peers for their knowledge, professionalism and integrity. PHI Inc. in Lafayette has achieved the maximum Level 4 status in the Federal Aviation Administration’s voluntary Safety Management System pilot program. SMS is becoming a worldwide standard in the aviation industry and is recognized by the Joint Planning and Development Office, International Civil Aviation Organization and Civil Aviation Authorities. PHI entered the FAA’s voluntary program 10 years ago under Option 2, which recognizes service providers with active SMS programs already in place. PHI was able to successfully demonstrate to the FAA the requirements necessary to exit Level 3 of the program to a level that provides assurances that the company is positioned to continuously improve safety, quality, efficiency and customer service.
