LSU Morning Briefing

LSU holds its second day of fall camp Tuesday. Split-squad practices are planned for Tuesday morning (9:30) and afternoon (3:45). Here are three things we’ll be watching during Tuesday’s practices:

- Mr. Mills: Safety Jalen Mills’ suspension has been lifted, and he’s expected to practice for the second straight day Tuesday. Mills is seen as a starter at one of the safety spots, but it’s unclear if he’ll play immediately when the season begins. Coach Les Miles has in the past used unannounced suspensions. So will Mills play with the first stringers in practice if he won’t play against Wisconsin?

- Freshman rotation: Several freshmen practiced with the veterans in the morning Monday. But will all of them remain at that practice? Some of the rookies, at least, are expected to alternate between morning and afternoon drills. What freshmen are practicing with the vets Tuesday?

- Dupre Day 2: Freshman receiver Malachi Dupre, one of those rookies who went in the morning Monday, made a few nice catches on Day 1. One of them had veterans chattering to reporters about it. He’ll get a second chance Tuesday to wow fellow teammates and slide himself even more into position to play immediately.
