Here’s what’s happening in the local arts and cultural scene:

■ Auditions for new male and female company member of the Cangelosi Dance Project will be noon Sunday, Aug. 24, at the Cangelosi Dance Project space, 3749 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge. Dancers should be age 18 and older for the five-month rehearsal and performance schedule. Professional dancers will receive company benefits for their rehearsal time and pay for performances. ■ Auditions for the Greater Baton Rouge Children’s Chorus will be by appointment on Saturday, Aug. 23, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., Baton Rouge. Auditions are open to all girls and boys (with unchanged voices) in the fourth through 12th grades. Auditions are free and no previous experience is required. ■ Registration is open for the Cangelosi Dance Project’s master class with choregographer Rosero McCoy from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Cangelosi Dance Project space, 3749 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge. McCoy has worked with such artists as Beyonce, Toni Braxton and the Jonas Brothers. The cost is free for company members and $200 for nonmembers.
