Nick Underhill| firstname.lastname@example.org Aug. 01, 2014 Comments WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. -- Today marks the seventh practice of training camp, and the doldrums of camp appear to be setting in. ABOUT YESTERDAY: There were shoves and elbows and more shoves all over the field. Thursday’s practice featured at least four dustups, including one between running back Khiry Robinson that had to be broken up by quarterback Drew Brees. A few fireworks are welcome, but that isn’t the position you want to see your quarterback in. Between all that, football was played. And, yes, rookie wide receiver Brandin Cooks continues to stand out. On defense, cornerback Patrick Robinson is playing at a high level. ON TODAY’S AGENDA: The Saints will be in action today at 7:50 a.m. CDT and a walkthrough session at 4:30 p.m. RB Travaris Cadet, LB Parys Haralson, RB Mark Ingram, CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste, QB Luke McCown, and S Pierre Warren are scheduled to talk. ABOUT TODAY: The Saints continue to prepare for upcoming season and are now within a week of playing of their first preseason game against the St. Louis Rams. The same story lines will continue to play out heading into that contest. One of the bigger ones is the battle at center between Tim Lelito and Jonathan Goodwin. As of now, neither man has taken the upper hand. Wide receiver Kenny Stills (quad) and guard Ben Grubbs (rest) should be inching closer to their returns. Wide receiver Robert Meachem (back) and safety Jairus Byrd (back) have been limited the past few days. Meachem, who is fighting for a roster spot, would benefit from a speedy return to full participation.
