Scott man wanted in stabbing at strip club

LAFAYETTE — A Scott man is being sought by police in an early Monday stabbing at a south Lafayette strip club.

Lafayette police said Jermaine Pete, accused of stabbing a person twice at Lipstick, a strip located in the 6100 block of Johnston Street, is wanted on one count of attempted second-degree murder, Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

Witnesses told police that Pete, 29, stabbed the victim twice then fled at around 12:30 a.m. The victim, who was not identified, was treated and released from a Lafayette hospital.

A warrant has been issued for Pete’s arrest. Police are encouraging anyone those with information on Pete’s locate to contact Lafayette police or Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
