China chemical plant firm headed by one of country’s richest

The Chinese petrochemical company that plans a $1.85 billion methanol plant in St. James Parish is led by one of China’s richest men, according to Forbes.com.

Yuhuang Chemical is the subsidiary of Shandong Yuhuang Chemical. Wang Jinshu, the company’s chairman, ranked No. 214 on the 2013 Forbes China Rich List with an estimated fortune worth $870 million.
