Jul 21, 2014 13:17 Essen Lane closed at railroad crossing until Monday Essen Lane closed at railroad crossing until Monday Advocate staff report July 21, 2014 Comments Essen Lane is closed at the railroad crossing south of Interstate 10 through Monday at 5 a.m. The weekend-long closure will allow crews from the Kansas City Southern Railway to reconstruct the Essen Lane railroad crossing, the state Department of Transportation and Development announced. The closure started at 9 p.m. Friday. Motorists are suggested to use the following detours during the closure: Drivers south of the closure traveling north on Essen Lane should take Perkins Road to Bluebonnet Boulevard to detour around the closure. I-10 eastbound drivers should exit at Acadian Thruway then travel east on Perkins Road to Essen Lane. I-10 westbound traffic should exit at Bluebonnet Boulevard, travel south to Perkins Road, then west to Essen Lane.
