Man sought in Subway armed robbery

Baton Rouge police are investigating the armed robbery of the Subway restaurant at 7664 Airline Highway at 3:10 p.m. Friday.

The robber entered the store with a handgun demanding money then ran off with the money, headed west on Industrial Avenue, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said Friday.

The assailant is described as a black male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, 140 pounds and 20 to 25 years old. He was wearing a gray hoodie, dark colored pants and a white bandana.

Authorities book 2 on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least two people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

Madison Blum, 21, 3000 July St., Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI and headlights required.

Kenneth Rogers, 31, 11972 Brill Lane, Clinton, first-offense DWI and driver’s license suspended or revoked.
