Crowley police arrest one, looking for others in fatal shooting

Crowley police said they have arrested one person and and expect to make futher arrests in a fatal shooting early Monday on West Northern Boulevard.

Shedrick Robinson, 22, of Crowley, was booked Monday night onone count of second-degree murder in the shooting death of Ryan Gums, Police Chief K.P. Gibson said.

Gums, 23, also ofCrowley, was shot multiple times in his upper torso and died at the scene in the 1400 block of West Northern Avenue near Buatt Street. The shooting occurred at around 2 a.m.

Gibson said detectives and patrol officers are still investigating the circumstances leading to the killing.

“We are still working to verify the motive in this case,” Gibson said. “Our investigators have a long road ahead of them as we are seeking one of two other unidentified suspects who are believed to be involved in this senseless murder.”
