Shooting victim in critical condition, police search for shooter

Baton Rouge police are looking for a suspect in a Sunday night shooting that left a 38-year-old with life-threatening injuries, police said.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Sunday in the 5600 block of Prescott Road, which is between North Foster Drive and Airline Highway, Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., a police spokesman, said Monday.

A dispute between Jonathan Foster, 25, and the shooting victim preceded the shooting, Coppola said.

Foster, 1532 Olive St., is wanted in the shooting on counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Coppola said.

Police did not indicate whether the shooting victim is a man or a woman. No other details were released.
