First-phase areas of cancer center expansion open First-phase areas of cancer center expansion open Advocate staff report July 19, 2014 Comments Mary Bird Perkins – Our Lady of the Lake Cancer Center has opened the Phase One areas of its $23 million renovation and expansion project that started last summer. The areas that have been completed are: A 14,000-square-foot infusion suite with an onsite clinical oncology pharmacy for expedited drug preparation and delivery. The suite also includes 52 semi-private and four private infusion bays with televisions, headsets and Wi-Fi for patients’ mobile devices. The 8,149-square-foot Thomas J. Moran Imaging Center, including CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, PET/CT and MRI diagnostic technologies. Installation of the new Elekta Versa HD radiation technology. The Cancer Center renovation and expansion project is scheduled to be completed in early 2015. Remaining major projects include main entrance and front lobby area, donor recognition wall, radiation oncology area, family and visitor hospitality area, and meditation room.
