The big rig slammed into the side of a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck that did not yield when turning left at the intersection at about 3 p.m., said Sgt. Nick Manale, a State Police spokesman. The impact of the collision pushed both vehicles about 200 feet from the intersection. The passenger in the pickup, Marcus Ingram, 40, of Tupelo, Mississippi, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office, Manale said. The driver of the pickup truck, Mark Konzelman, 29, of Osyka, Mississippi, suffered moderate injuries. Richard Powers, 52, of Kentwood, the driver of the 18-wheeler, was not injured, Manale said. Troopers are consulting with the Tangipahoa Parish District Attorney’s Office regarding what violations may have occurred and may arrest Konzelman, Manale said. Impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
