Verdale Anthony Moore, 24, was located at a home in Osyka, just across the state line along Interstate 55, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said. Moore had been awaiting trial in the Feb. 4 shooting death of Sandra Butler, 37, of Independence, when he escaped Sunday night from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office took Moore into custody without incident, Panepinto said. Moore was arrested following a drive-by shooting Feb. 4 that began with an argument over rap music lyrics. Butler was not the intended target of the shooting, authorities said at the time.
