Baton Rouge firefighters hadn’t determined yet what caused the fire at a vacant house on South 12th Street Monday morning, the department announced.
Firefighters arrived at 5:37 a.m. at 230 S. 12 St. to find fire in the kitchen and attic. They had it under control by 5:55 a.m., department spokesman Mark Miles said in a press release. The house valued at $125,000, suffered $60,000 in damage, Miles said.
Though vacant, the house still had power. Investigators are still trying to determine a cause, he said.
