Jul 9, 2014 13:02 Sheriff’s Office: Kentwood church burglars arrested Sheriff’s Office: Kentwood church burglars arrested | Florida Parishes bureau July 09, 2014 Comments Two Tangipahoa Parish men were arrested this week in the burglary of a Kentwood church. Staff members of the Lewiston Baptist Church reported the break-in and theft of an LED television and several window-unit air conditioners the morning of June 15, Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said Thursday. Deputies found a broken window, which appeared to be the point of entry, and noted that the suspects had gone through the office areas of the church, including the pastor’s office, which had been locked, Panepinto said. Investigators identified two suspects in the case as Bryce Landry, 68307 Charles McDaniel Road, Kentwood; and Sterling Dyson, 108 W. Palmetto St., Amite, both 23, and arrested them on a count each of burglary of a religious building. Landry, who was taken into custody Tuesday on two outstanding warrants, including a theft count, allegedly told investigators he took several items from the church, loaded them into a pickup then sold them to an unknown man, Panepinto said. Landry and Dyson remain in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail each.
