Stabbing death on Grand Isle beach Stabbing death on Grand Isle beach Advocate staff report| June 23, 2014 Comments A woman who argued with her boyfriend late Saturday was stabbed to death on Grand Isle beach in front of her year-old daughter. Grand Isle Police and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies captured Randy Paul Marcel, 28, Chauvin, after he ran from the stabbing, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen Boyd said Sunday in a news release. Marcel and the victim had been dating for about five years. He is not the father of the child, who will be placed in the state’s care, Boyd said. The stabbing near Cypress Lane and La. 1 occurred about 10:30 p.m. Saturday after the two argued. A Grand Isle resident witnessed the stabbing and called 911. Authorities are withholding the victim’s name until a relative can be notified of her death. Marcel will be booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, the release says.
