Carencro man booked in rape of BR girl

Police on Thursday arrested a 24-year-old Carencro man accused of raping a 9-year-old Baton Rouge girl and demanding sexual favors from her 12-year-old sister.

Police say on June 13, Tarmichael Williams, 106 Nashua Drive, offered the 12-year-old $5 in exchange for “pleasure” and later that night raped her younger sister, according to the warrant.

Baton Rouge Police booked Williams into Parish Prison on two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and a count of aggravated rape, booking records show.

BR man accused of sex crimes against girl

A 63-year-old Baton Rouge man was arrested Thursday for sex crimes against an 11-year-old girl that took place over three years.

The girl told investigators she was repeatedly assaulted at a home while others were asleep, according to the arrest warrant.

Sheriff’s deputies booked Daryl Martin Williams, 18918 Poujeaux Ave., into Parish Prison on an aggravated sex crime count, booking records show.

Arrest made in Internet child porn case

Authorities arrested a 37-year-old Breaux Bridge man accused of downloading and distributing at least nine videos of child pornography through the Internet in November and December.

An investigator with the Louisiana Department of Justice’s Cyber Crime Unit analyzed Lance Romero’s computer and determined he had browsed peer-to-peer network sites and downloaded videos of underaged children having sex, according to the arrest warrant.

Police booked Romero, 1107 Sussan Drive, into Parish Prison on a count of pornography involving a juvenile, booking records show.

Arson blamed in Ford Street house fire

Baton Rouge firefighters are blaming arson for a Thursday morning fire that destroyed a vacant house at 4731 Ford St.

Firefighters saw the house engulfed in flames within minutes of their arrival at 4:40 a.m., said Mark Miles, a spokesman with the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

The blaze was under control by 4:47 a.m.

The destroyed house had been worth $50,000, Miles said.

Man wanted in EZ Payday Loans robbery

A Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman on Thursday released a photo of a man wanted in the Tuesday armed robbery of EZ Payday Loans on Airline Highway.

A man wearing an orange safety vest and work boots entered the business at 11:48 a.m. pretending to be a customer before drawing a handgun and ordering an employee to fill a plastic bag with cash. The robber took the bag, filled with $2,020, pressed an exit button while covering his hand with his shirt and walked out of the business, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

BR teen booked in rape of 12-year-old girl

Police on Thursday arrested a 17-year-old boy accused of raping a 12-year-old girl at his residence on May 29.

The assault ended when he heard his sister calling the victim’s name, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Police booked King Watson, 12540 Cate Ave., Baton Rouge, into Parish Prison on a count of forcible rape, booking records show.

Authorities book 3 on suspicion of DWI

Authorities arrested at least three people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, booking records show.

Those booked and the counts against them:

Julia Gremillion, 22, 4263 La. 1176, Bunkie, first-offense DWI, reckless operation of vehicle and improper turns.

Josh Joffrion, 25, 37392 Cornerview Road, Geismar, second-offense DWI, reckless operation of vehicle and driving on a restricted-access road.

Christopher Stevens, 31, 550 Lee Drive, Baton Rouge, first-offense DWI, improper lane usage and reckless operation of vehicle.
