D-Day commemorative parachute jump

Three Baton Rouge area residents, West Summers, Jeff Salard and Advocate staff photographer Patrick Dennis made three parachute jumps with two teams (Liberty Jump Team and Round Canopy Parachute Team) in Normandy, France. The jumps were to honor the World War II veterans and to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944. The three men made parachute jumps from C-47 aircraft onto three drop zones, Amfreville, Graignes and Lafiere.
