Keagyn Parson on collapsed at the Evangeline home of his stepmother on May 19. Keagyn, who lived in Lake Arthur, died later the same day at Jennings American Legion Hospital after efforts to revive the boy failed. On Thursday, Acadia Parish Coroner Dr. Mark Dawson ruled the death a homicide, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maxine Trahan said in a news release. An investigation continues, Trahan said.
