Walk-On’s opening downtown restaurant Walk-On’s opening downtown restaurant BY TIMOTHY BOONE| email@example.com June 17, 2014 Comments For several years, Walk-On’s Enterprises has had its corporate offices in downtown Baton Rouge, along with a location of its sister property, Happy’s Irish Pub. But there wasn’t a flagship Walk-On’s restaurant. That will change this fall when Walk-On’s Halfcourt, a scaled-down version of the popular sports bar, opens on Third Street, next to Happy’s. The restaurant will take up 2,500 square feet in the Lee Overton Building. Brandon Landry, the co-owner and founder of Walk-On’s, said the Halfcourt location will be about one-third the size of the chain’s newest Towne Center restaurant and will have a smaller menu of about 20 dishes. The back of the restaurant will open into the Happy’s patio, dubbed “Happyland,” to allow for outdoor dining and live entertainment. “Walk-On’s Halfcourt is a perfect fit for downtown, bringing a much-needed sports bar along with all the great eats and sights Walk-On’s is known for,” Landry said. The smaller version will serve as a model for future Walk-On’s locations that could be placed in downtown areas or airports. Walk-On’s has two other locations in Baton Rouge, along with restaurants in New Orleans and Lafayette. Follow Timothy Boone on Twitter, @TCB_TheAdvocate.
