LSU pitcher Jared Poché was selected as a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball, the organization released Wednesday.
Poché, from Lutcher, went 9-3 on the mound and finished the season with an ERA of 2.45. He worked 91.2 innings, walking 26 and striking out 52.
Poché shook off some early road woes and won some key games for LSU this season, most recently his complete-game seven-inning victory against Vanderbilt in the SEC tournament on May 21.
Shortstop Alex Bregman was Freshman All-American last season and Aaron Nola got the honor in 2012.
