Holden man, 48, killed in Ascension Parish crash near Diversion Canal Holden man, 48, killed in Ascension Parish crash near Diversion Canal Louisiana State Police logo Advocate staff report June 02, 2014 Comments A 48-year-old Holden man died early Monday after a crash on La. 22 east of La. 937 near the Diversion Canal in Ascension Parish, State Police said. Lawrence M. Lambert was not wearing a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries, Trooper First Class Jared Sandifer said in a news release. The wreck occurred about 2:45 a.m. Lambert was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when, for unknown reasons, he failed to make it around a right-hand curve and his car ran off the road, went through a ditch and struck a protection levee, causing the car to flip onto its roof, Sandifer said. It was unclear whether the driver was impaired. A toxicology sample was taken and submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis, Sandifer said. Excessive speed is considered to be a factor in the crash, Sandifer said.
