Gonzales man killed in early morning I-10 crash Gonzales man killed in early morning I-10 crash Louisiana State Police logo Advocate staff report May 23, 2014 Comments A single-vehicle crash early Friday on Interstate 10 took the life of a 45-year-old Gonzales man, State Police reported. Armand M. Marchand’s 2004 Cadillac SRX was eastbound on I-10, just east of the Highland Road exit, about 12:30 a.m. when his car ran off the roadway to the right and entered a canal, where the vehicle became submerged. Marchand was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, where he died. Marchand was properly restrained at the time of the crash. Driver impairment is unknown at this time, and a toxicology sample was taken from Marchand and submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
