Reward offered for information in Hammond shooting death

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is offering a reward of $2,500 for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of 16-year-old Hector Dotey.

Dotey died of a gunshot wound to the head Tuesday at his home on Willow Villa Road, sheriff’s spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said Wednesday.

Detectives believe Dotey was shot around 3:30 a.m. following a disturbance earlier that morning at the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Center that continued to his residence, Panepinto said.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 554-5245.
