LSU names honors dean LSU names honors dean Advocate Staff Reports May 22, 2014 Comments LSU has picked Jonathan Earle to serve as its new dean of the Honors College. Earle, who is the director of the University Honors Program at the University of Kansas, will start at LSU on Aug. 15, pending approval from the university’s Board of Supervisors. “Dr. Earle has had an impressive career in studying and teaching on American political history, and we are excited to see his vision for the Honors College,” LSU Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost Stuart Bell said in a news release. A suburban Washington, D.C.,-native, Earle received a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University and a master’s degree and doctorate from Princeton University. His background is in history and politics. “The Honors College at LSU is already one of the crown jewels of the university and one of the very best of its kind in the country,” Earle said in the release. “And with the excellent work by Dean Nancy Clark, the staff and the fabulous students it’s poised to be even better.
