Video: Baton Rouge hosts Greek Fest

Baton Rouge’s third annual Greek festival celebrated Greek culture Saturday, with a one-day event held at the Belle of Baton Rouge Atrium. Traditional Greek dancing, hair braiding, Mediterranean arts and crafts, music and food cooked Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church members, and others, helped mark the day. Mayor-President Kip Holden prclaimed Saturday ‘Greek Festival Day,’ and he and other audience members joined New Orelans Hellenic Dance Group members for a spin on the dance floor, after the group performed several numbers. Traditional music was performed by Atlanta’s Alpha Omega Sound Greek Band, and belly dancers from the Baton Rouge area performed as well.
