Third Polo employee wanted in thefts from Tanger Outlet store Third Polo employee wanted in thefts from Tanger Outlet store Lyndon Lamar Pack River Parishes bureau May 12, 2014 Comments GONZALES — City police officers are looking for an employee of the Polo store at Tanger Outlet Mall accused of stealing $41,400 after two other employees implicated him following their own arrests last month. Gonzales police said Monday they believe Lyndon Lamar Pack, 25, 1702 Creole St., LaPlace, was involved in a series of schemes to steal merchandise or cash from the Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store between Nov. 10 and April 10. Detective Sgt. Steven Nethken said, in some cases, an acquaintance would pick out clothes and bring them to the register. Pack would create a “zero balance” for the merchandise, give the acquaintance the ticket and let the person leave without paying for the clothes. In other cases, Pack would use a database of customers to create fraudulent merchandise returns and credit his debit card for the false return, Nethken said. An internal store investigation found two other employees were committing fraudulent transactions, Nethken said in a news release Monday. After their arrests April 15, Nethken said, the employees said Pack showed them “how to facilitate the thefts.” David Chambers, 19, 12036 La. 73, Geismar, and John Fitzgerald Gilbert Jr., 19, 12105 Cypress Ridge Road, Geismar, were each booked on single counts of felony theft greater than $1,500, Nethken said. Chambers and Gilbert were no longer in the Ascension Parish Detention Center on Monday. Information on their bail was not available. Pack is wanted on a single count of theft greater than $1,500 where the total amount stolen exceeds $40,000, Nethken said. Those who know where Pack is should call the Gonzales Police at (225) 647-9536.
