Man, 55, dies in Airline Highway shooting

A 55-year-old man died Saturday morning after he was shot several times following an altercation with his wife as he was driving his Dodge pickup on Airline Highway.

Cpl. Don Coppola Jr., a Baton Rouge police spokesman, identified Noel Beauchamp, 2627 Cedar Avenue, Baton Rouge, as the victim.

The shooting occurred in the 5300 block of Airline, near North Foster Drive at about 9 a.m., Coppola said. The shooting inside the vehicle did not cause an accident.

Police questioned the wife, Coppola said.

This incident is still under investigation.
