Advocate story April 30, 2014 Comments The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office unveiled its new Gardere Substation on Wednesday, a 2,500-square-foot building at 3777 L’Auberge Crossing donated by the parent company of L’Auberge Hotel and Casino. The new substation features three offices, an evidence processing room, a holding area and an interrogation room as well as an area where the Sheriff’s Office can launch boats for search and rescue and to get through neighborhoods in the event of backwater flooding. More than 30 deputies will move into the substation from the Burbank Substation, located in a shopping center on Burbank, not far from Gardere. Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said 13 deputies will be moved from the Traffic Division into the Burbank Substation from their office on O’Neal Lane, increasing the Sheriff’s Office’s presence in Gardere.
