Pastime Jr., the Drusilla Village version of the longtime downtown Baton Rouge pizza and po-boy restaurant, shut down over the weekend.
The Drusilla Village location opened in 2008.
“Their lease was expiring and they decided not to renew,” said Alex Knight, of Donnie Jarreau Real Estate. Jarreau bought the shopping center earlier this month.
Knight said the news that Pastime Jr. would be shutting down didn’t catch the owners by surprise. “We knew about it going in,” he said.
The new owners plan to spend about $2 million renovating Drusilla Village. Plans are to wait until after the renovations are complete before leasing the 2,500 square foot space formerly occupied by Pastime Jr., Knight said.
