Pennington Foundation was recognized by City Year Baton Rouge for its commitment to the organization and work to develop young leaders and help students in high-need schools succeed. City Year Baton Rouge is an education-focused nonprofit that unites young people for a year of service in high-need schools. Dr. Leanne Trueheart, of Covington, is among 23 doctors nationally honored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness as Exemplary Psychiatrists at the American Psychiatric Association’s annual conference in New York City. The award recognizes doctors for their extraordinary commitment to providing excellent mental health care and working to reduce the stigma traditionally surrounding mental illness. Right Angle Advertising Agency and an ad created for Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Lafayette for its 30th anniversary won an American Advertising Federation District 7 Gold Addy Award.
